My journey with art began as a child, sitting beside my father as he taught me calligraphy and drawing. Those early lessons gave me not only technique, but also the gift of seeing the world through an artistic lens—finding beauty in the smallest details and seeking creative expression wherever I could.

As a teenager, I became fascinated with photography. I started with our family’s analogue camera, waiting impatiently for prints to be developed. The process was too slow for such a curious soul, so the moment I discovered digital cameras, I saved every penny I could to buy one. That camera became my gateway into a new world. I soon enrolled in a photography diploma course, where I explored every style of photography and delivered projects that stretched both my creativity and my skills.

Although my academic studies led me to complete both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in other fields, my heart kept pulling me back to art. My early experiments in photography eventually led me to earn diplomas in both photography  and graphic design, with advanced training in studio lighting, retouching, and visual storytelling. My career began as a graphic designer at a tourism company while I also worked as a freelance photographer, gaining invaluable experience in both worlds.

My passion for portrait photography led me to train with renowned Iranian photographer Ms. Shabani, where I refined my skills in studio lighting and advanced retouching. I also attended a newborn photography workshop with Nasrin Haji Jani, which deepened my appreciation for capturing life’s most delicate moments. Education has always been as important to me as experience—I believe growth as an artist comes from both.

In the middle of this journey, I immigrated from Iran to Canada, where I now live in Vancouver with my husband and our little baby boy. Building a new life here gave me the courage to finally bring a dream to reality: opening April Studio.

Today, April Studio is a full-service creative space, offering both photography and graphic design. From personal portraits and branding visuals to custom design projects, I approach each client’s vision with the same care and passion that has guided me since childhood.

For me, every project is more than an assignment—it’s a collaboration, a story to be told, and an opportunity to create something lasting. My clients often become long-term partners and friends, because I always aim to go beyond expectations.

Art has been the thread of my life since the very beginning, and through April Studio, I now get to share that lifelong passion with others—turning moments, ideas, and visions into timeless treasures.
