Want to Get to Know Me?

My journey with art began as a child, sitting beside my father as he taught me calligraphy and drawing. Those early lessons gave me not only technique, but also the gift of seeing the world through an artistic lens—finding beauty in the smallest details and seeking creative expression wherever I could.

As a teenager, I became fascinated with photography. I started with our family’s analogue camera, waiting impatiently for prints to be developed. The process was too slow for such a curious soul, so the moment I discovered digital cameras, I saved every penny I could to buy one. That camera became my gateway into a new world. I soon enrolled in a photography diploma course, where I explored every style of photography and delivered projects that stretched both my creativity and my skills.

Although my academic studies led me to complete both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in other fields, my heart kept pulling me back to art. My early experiments in photography eventually led me to earn diplomas in both photography  and graphic design, with advanced training in studio lighting, retouching, and visual storytelling. My career began as a graphic designer at a tourism company while I also worked as a freelance photographer, gaining invaluable experience in both worlds.

My passion for portrait photography led me to train with renowned Iranian photographer Ms. Shabani, where I refined my skills in studio lighting and advanced retouching. I also attended a newborn photography workshop with Nasrin Haji Jani, which deepened my appreciation for capturing life’s most delicate moments. Education has always been as important to me as experience—I believe growth as an artist comes from both.

In the middle of this journey, I immigrated from Iran to Canada, where I now live in Vancouver with my husband and our little baby boy. Building a new life here gave me the courage to finally bring a dream to reality: opening April Studio.

Today, April Studio is a full-service creative space, offering both photography and graphic design. From personal portraits and branding visuals to custom design projects, I approach each client’s vision with the same care and passion that has guided me since childhood.

For me, every project is more than an assignment—it’s a collaboration, a story to be told, and an opportunity to create something lasting. My clients often become long-term partners and friends, because I always aim to go beyond expectations.

Art has been the thread of my life since the very beginning, and through April Studio, I now get to share that lifelong passion with others—turning moments, ideas, and visions into timeless treasures.

Why You Should Book a Professional Portrait Session (and Not Wait for “Someday”)

At April Studio, we believe every portrait tells a story — a quiet, powerful reflection of who you are right now.
In a world full of selfies and filters, there’s something deeply meaningful about slowing down, standing in front of the camera, and letting someone capture your true essence.
A professional portrait isn’t about vanity. It’s about value — the value of time, confidence, and memory.
Here are seven beautiful reasons why you deserve to have one.

1. You Are the Youngest Version of Yourself Today

Time never stands still, but portraits can. Every photo you take today becomes a time capsule of who you are in this moment — your spark, your curiosity, your dreams.

2. A Professional Portrait Is Far Beyond a Selfie

Your phone might capture your face, but a professional captures your essence. At April Studio, we study lighting, posing, and composition to bring out your most natural, flattering angles.

3. A Portrait Session Boosts Self-Confidence

Many clients come to their session shy or uncertain — and leave glowing. When you see yourself through a professional lens, you realize how beautiful and strong you truly are.

4. It’s an Act of Self-Expression and Empowerment

A portrait session is more than standing in front of a camera — it’s a creative collaboration. You choose the mood, the wardrobe, the tone, and together we build a vision that reflects you.

5. You’re Creating Legacy and Memories for the Future

Photographs outlive moments. A professional portrait becomes part of your story — something you, your loved ones, and future generations can cherish.

6. It Strengthens Your Personal or Professional Brand

Your image represents your story. Whether you’re an artist, entrepreneur, parent, or dreamer — a portrait helps you present yourself with authenticity and confidence.

7. The Experience Itself Is Transformative

A portrait session at April Studio is designed to feel comfortable, creative, and empowering. From planning to final reveal, we guide you through every step with care and artistry.

Final Thoughts

Don’t wait for a “perfect” time — because the perfect time is today. Celebrate your story, your growth, and your individuality. Book your portrait session with April Studio in Coquitlam, BC.

The Art of Storytelling Through Photography: A Celebration of Love That Lasts

Love, A Story To Be Told

Some stories don’t need words — they shine through smiles, glances, and gentle gestures.
Recently, I had the joy of photographing a lovely couple who wanted to celebrate five beautiful years of life together. Their bond wasn’t about grand gestures — it was about quiet affection, shared laughter, and the ease that only comes from growing in love side by side.

Capturing More Than Faces

During the session, I focused on what connected them — the way their hands naturally found each other, the laughter that came so effortlessly, and the warmth in their eyes. Every frame became a reflection of trust, comfort, and a love that had matured beautifully with time.

The soft light, pastel tones, and natural movements helped the photographs feel authentic — not staged, but lived. That’s the heart of storytelling photography: emotion over perfection.

A Timeless Reminder

Photography, for me, has always been a way to freeze what words can’t describe. This session reminded me how love evolves — not into routine, but into rhythm. These images will forever remind them of how far they’ve come and how deeply they continue to care for one another.

Your Story Matters Too

Every couple’s journey is unique, and every photograph deserves to carry its story.
📩 If you’re celebrating your anniversary, engagement, or simply your togetherness — let’s create something that will always bring your memories back to life.
